Diwali is all about celebrating light and good triumphing over darkness and evil – a message that everyone universally should be able to get behind.

This five-day celebration is a time for family, reflection, prayer and (our favorite part...) feasts. If this year feels even more special, you’re not wrong. Even Mattel thinks so, with the release of their new Diwali Barbie.

No one knows how to do a Diwali feast like Hetal Vasavada, creator of the wildly successful blog Milk & Cardamon and author of the new cookbook Desi Bakes. “Diwali is all about bringing light into your life and finding joy in your friends and family. Sharing a sweet treat and creating a space that’s filled with color and happiness is a huge part of celebrating Diwali. It’s a way to kick off the new year with lots of dopamine and positivity!” says Vasavada.

Madhu Chocolate

Diwali is usually celebrated with sweets! The idea is to start off the new year with sweetness! I personally love baking but I also love having bars of chocolate from Madhu Chocolate to serve! They have a saffron milk chocolate that just melted your mouth! Also their masala chai chocolate is the perfect sweet to gift to friends and family or to add to a cheeseboard as a sweet treat.

Chaiwali Masala Chai Blend

Serving chai at a Diwali party, or really any gathering, is a MUST. I really love Chaiwali Masala Chai blend - it has lots of warm spices and the tea really comes through beautifully for a rich flavor. But if you’re in a rush and don’t want to stress about making chai while you have guests- I highly suggest checking out One Stripe Chai’s concentrates- you just add it to milk, heat and serve!

Spundhann’s Décor

Decorations! Diwali is like Christmas for us- we decorate our homes with flower garlands, lights, and tons of color! I like to check out Spundhann’s for fun home decor so that I can really get the house in the mood for Diwali! I also like to decorate my dessert table with Thalis and fill them with water and  float tea lights and flowers in them! I also fill a few with sweet treats like my pistachio muddy buddies from my cookbook Desi Bakes!
