You ‘Knead’ This New Perfume from Auntie Anne's
Now you can take that enticing mall pretzel smell with you everywhere.
Malls are filled with memorable scents, like the whiff of Sbarro pizza fresh out of the oven or whatever it was they once pumped through the air vents at Hollister.
But none is more powerful than that of Auntie Anne’s pretzels. So it should really come as no surprise that the 36-year-old company has finally done the unthinkable and bottled that very scent as a perfume.
Available in 1-ounce and 3.4-ounce bottles for $25 and $45 respectively, "Knead: Eau de Pretzel" (yes, you read that right) is described as “a wearable scent infused with notes of buttery dough, salt and a hint of sweetness.” According to the company’s Chief Brand Officer, it was designed to evoke the nostalgia of walking by an Auntie Anne’s store – we assume after getting dropped off by your parents for a day of window shopping, snacking or whatever else it is we used to do at the mall for hours at a time.
The savory scent launched in New York at Auntie Anne’s new Pretzel Parfumerie on August 13th in SoHo, and is available online here. We’re unsure how we feel about this, but it can’t be worse than smelling like a bucket of fried chicken, right?
