Uh-Oh, Problems Are Bubbling Up for Poppi
The time has come to find out if everyone's favorite "healthy" soda is actually, um, healthy.
Yes, Poppi is delicious.
Yes, Poppi is the most fun functional beverage. Yes, Poppi paid for and outfitted Alix Earle’s entire Palm Springs pad for Coachella. But is Poppi actually as good for your gut as it claims to be? We’re about to find out.
A lawsuit was filed against the wildly-popular beverage, stating that it does not contain enough prebiotic fiber to actually support and help gut health. The lawsuit, filed by Kristin Cobbs, asserts that one would have to drink over four cans of Poppi to experience gut health benefits since the drinks only contain two grams of prebiotic fiber, but Poppi’s “high sugar count” would offset any of these benefits. You hate to see it.
Will we still drink Poppi? Probably. Will we do it with a little halo of health? Maybe not so much.
