Drinks are getting smaller and cuter - and we’re here for it.
As underconsumption core grows and 61% of Gen Z says they’re trying to drink less alcohol, we’re seeing a teeny, tiny new trend a brewin’: small format cocktails.
And while single serving shots (hello, Fireball!), smaller format beers – we’re looking at you Miller High Life Ponies —and micro-shot glasses have been around for years, the tiny format cocktail is something entirely new.
TikTok’s @beeraficionado says that this new wave of tiny drinks is all about, “sweet, flavor driven booze.” Industry giant Anheuser-Busch is getting into the game with a new 7.5oz size of their caffeinated Beats drink and Smirnoff Ice has introduced the Smirnoff Shorty, a mini version of its popular malt drink that now comes in a 6.75oz bottle and is 13% alcohol, compared to the normal 4.5% version in the larger bottle. Craft cocktail aficionados are also getting in the mix with creators like Miguel Buencamino of Charleston-based Holy City Handcraft demonstrating how to make a Tiny Daiquiri.
