Eggs Take Flight on TikTok

TikTok is the leader when it comes to food trends, launching everything from Girl Dinner to Fluffy Coke. Most recently though, it’s seen the rise of egg flights, courtesy of creator Alice Choi.

While the idea is pretty simple – hard-boiled eggs sliced in half with lots of toppings – it’s the variety and methodology that seem to have the internet so eager to recreate the concept at home. “So typically I go over the top with egg creations, it’s really fun to do,” says Choi in her viral TikTok, which has almost 115,000 likes along with 500+ comments, 12,000 saves and 10,000 shares.  

According to Choi, who goes by @hipfoodiemom on the platform, the secret to a great egg flight is the combination of creamy, tangy, crunchy and sour – which for her means Kewpie mayo, yellow mustard and then three different pickled or fermented toppings in kimchi, hot and sweet jalapeños and pickled red onions.
