Now you can inhale that sweet, almost-too-sugary scent of banana pudding without having to track a single calorie because indie candle brand Boy Smells has partnered with beloved Magnolia Bakery to make a Banana Pudding Candle.
The inspiration for the collab comes from Boy Smells co-founder Matthew Herman’s longtime love for Magnolia Bakery’s version of that particular dessert. He tells Food & Wine, “Banana Pudding has always and will forever be my ride or die indulgence,” he said. “When living in NYC and later in LA, whenever co-workers, friends, or lovers asked what kind of cake I wanted for my birthday, I would always say no cake, just a giant banana pudding please.” The scent comes in a perfume and candle, available online now.
These aren’t the only brands bidding on banana. Chick-Fil-A encouraged guests to “go bananas” with its limited time offering, the Banana Pudding Milkshake, which has garnered hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok (check out @eatingwithshay’s take on the shake!), and Olipop brought back Banana Cream Soda as a permanent flavor after a successful LTO run. And for those of you who are TRULY obsessed with banana pudding, you can head to the National Banana Pudding Festival in Centerville, TN October 5-6.
