Mush, Mush Baby
Why we're packing for Alaska right now.
Welcome to Carry On, our guide to the places you should go and what to wear when you get there.
Condé Nast Traveler just named Alaska one of the 'The 25 Best Places to Go in 2025' and it’s easy to see why.
Why we're going:
Whether cruising past icy fjords framed by rugged mountains, exploring wild coastlines or spotting abundant wildlife, the Last Frontier is full of adventure. We’re packing our bags to head north this January and here’s why. According to CNT, 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the Serum Run, a sled dog relay celebrated annually where mushers and their dogs compete. To mark the 100-year anniversary, mushers will depart on January 27, exactly 100 years to the day from the original event and a documentary will be produced about the journey. Thankfully, Alaska Airlines just made it even easier to get there with new daily nonstop flights from New York, San Diego, Nashville and Portland. Mush!
