Omni San Diego Reopens with the Best Views in Town
One of our favorite hotels in the Gaslamp Quarter just got even better.
Welcome to Book It!, our monthly look at a buzzy new hotel or resort we're excited about.
Just like all of us, even hotels themselves need a few nips and tucks to keep looking their best. Fresh from a hefty renovation and ready for its close-up, we’re excited to check out the new Omni San Diego Hotel.
What to Know
Set in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, the 511-room hotel has two new restaurants and a new, baseball-inspired design that pays homage to the Padres and nearby Petco Park. Think stadium-style light fixtures, baseball-inspired artwork and geometric-patterned carpets.
On the food side, Ace Porter is a new street-level restaurant and bar serving a mix of Mediterranean-influenced dishes like a burger, blistered shishito peppers and vegetable meze. Come for the views, vibes and food. With the Padres already kicking off the MLB season in March, we predict that the new Omni San Diego is a home run.
