Why mayo white is our color crush this season.
We’re not going to lie. When we heard that Hellman’s was releasing something called Mayonnaise Blanc, it seemed like a dream come true.
There’s mayonnaise – which, according to Statista, is America’s most popular condiment with more than 75% of Americans keeping a jar of mayonnaise in the fridge. There’s white wine – say no more. Put those together and game over. (Turns out, there's not actually any wine involved - the wine bottle-shaped gift secretly holds a jar of Hellmann’s inside.)
But! This news also awakened something unexpected - a new color crush: mayo white.
While some might call it winter white, we’re going to stick to our guns that mayo is the shade we’re after. This creamy, rich shade of white lets us keep it bright and light during the dark days of winter while still feeling luxe and decadent. And we’re not alone. According to Vogue, “Few tonal looks as chic, and unexpected, as wearing head-to-toe white in the winter, whether you’re embracing the mood for the holiday season or looking to brighten up bleak, breezy days.”
We’ll raise a glass of Mayonnaise Blanc to that.
