The Disco Ball Has Taken Over
From helmets and jumpsuits to tableware, the '70s icon has never been more popular.
As far as we’re concerned, a disco ball is a design choice we’ll always get behind. Kelly Wearstler seems to agree.
Her collab with Dutch art collective Rotganzen Studio - Quelle Fete - bridges the gap between art and design and is inspired by glamorous nights in clubs like Studio 54, Paradise Garage and The Roxy. According to Wearstler, Quelle Fete balances the elegance and melancholic glory reminiscent of 1970s nightlife in a series of glass mirror melted disco ball objet d'art and, more recently, integrated into delicate and carefully crafted furniture pieces.
Painstakingly hand-sculpted in the Rotganzen Studio and released only in limited editions or exclusive originals, Quelle Fete is currently one of the most coveted collector’s series around. With prices starting at $2,500, we’ve found a few more affordable yet chic ways to follow the call of the disco ball.
