Is Brat All That?
Charli XCX and her particular shade of green have officially taken over.
Charli XCX and her latest album, Brat, have taken a new meaning to being in the limelight.
Since releasing the album in early June, the iconic British pop star has created an internet sensation around the color lime green that is sweeping across industries. “It’s eye-catching in all the wrong ways,” Charli tells Architectural Digest in their most recent piece, “How Charli XCX made Brat Green the Loudest Color of the Year."
Beyond just the color though, "brat girl summer" is meant to spark a counterculture to the norm and embrace what’s weird. We're seeing this in Hotels Above Par's “Where to Stay for a Brat Summer” that calls out outlandish stays and brat getaways. We've also seen it come up in the recent election campaign with @kamalahq changing its background to brat green as an appeal to young voters. If this digital trend can relate to politics, hotels and fashion, we can’t wait to see what’s next on the brat tour. Check out our tips below to dressing for the brattiest summer yet.
